Estate Tax Tips Under Trump Administration… | Rich Life Letter #081
Happy Tuesday!
I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the day off yesterday (here at the firm if the court is closed we’re closed, so the team had the day off).
And, I hope everyone took at least a moment to thank all of the people that help keep us safe. The military doesn’t always get a ton of love, but the people serving deserve all of our support for putting their lives on the line and even sacrificing their lives so we can drive our Teslas and drink our Starbucks.
If you are reading this and are in the military or have served, thank you, truly, for your service.
Okay, now that we got the mushy stuff out of the way, want to talk some tax law?!
Don’t worry this is going to be short.
So, what should we be prepared for now that Trump has been elected President?
Here are the expert takes on the subject…
I have no idea!
Trump, or anyone else being elected President doesn’t really give us much insight into what’s coming from a tax perspective.
Why?
Presidents don’t make laws – Congress does.
Now, we’ll know soon if there is a Republican majority in both houses, which will increase the likelihood of new legislation being passed, but until that happens, and until legislation is proposed and actually passes (which is harder than it sounds), we just don’t have any idea what’s going to happen.
The best thing you can do is plan for what’s in front of us and keep as much flexibility as possible to pivot in the future if necessary.
Have a great week!
Cheers.
