Is Buying a Home a Good Idea (Warren Buffett has thoughts)? | Rich Life Letter #043

Last week I tugged at the heart strings a little.

This week let’s talk $$$.

Many of you may not know this, but I don’t own my residence.

And it’s not because I can’t afford it, necessarily (although holy smokes real estate is expensive), it’s a conscious choice.

The reality is, I love real estate (I own real estate, I just don’t live in it).

I just don’t think a home is the best place to put my money.

And Warren Buffett agrees with me. :)

I have proof – https://finance.yahoo.com/news/warren-buffetts-31-500-house-181400983.html

If you read the article, you’ll notice one interesting thing – he DOES own a house, even though he understands it’s not the best financial decision in many ways.

As you all know, whenever we talk to you about estate planning strategies, ideas, etc., we always do our best to give you the full picture and let you decide what you want to do given your own values, philosophy, and family.

And the same goes for these financial decisions too.

Owning a home is often WAY more than just a financial decision, and I get that.

I just wanted to give you a little extra food for thought. :)

Have a great day!

Cheers,

Christopher Small
