A shorty but a goody today.

If you own an LLC this one’s for you.

If you recall, last year a new requirement went into effect for all LLC owners – you HAD to fill out a beneficial ownership information form with the government.

If you did not file you faced potential fines and even jail time.

The deadline for that filing was 12/31/2024… until it wasn’t.

A court in Texas ruled the law unconstitutional and paused the filing requirements pending appeal.

And then an appeal happened – and the law was declared valid again.

When that happened the filing date was extended to 1/13/25… until the same court that ruled the law valid changed its mind and declared it invalid again and paused all filing requirements.

And that’s where we stand today.

So, if you’ve got an LLC and you haven’t filed the BOI form yet, have no fear, you’re not in trouble.

And, if the law is reinstated, you’ll have time to get your information submitted.
