These clients were a married couple with three minor kids. The wife was an Australian citizen. Their goals were to provide for their children and avoid probate.
We created a will plan for both of them, which each included a:
- Will;
- Financial Power of Attorney;
- Medical Power of Attorney;
- Advance Health Care Directive; and
- Disposition Instructions.
We also created a babysitter emergency manual and letters to short-term guardians, and a Power of Attorney for Minor Children and Designation of Health Care Representative for Minor Children.
The Wills named people to act as Personal Representative of the clients Estates. They additionally named guardians for their minor children, in case anything happened to them before their kids reached the age of eighteen.
The Financial Powers of Attorney appointed people to manage the clients’ assets if they are ever unable to do so during their lifetime.
The Medical Powers of Attorney designate people to manage the clients’ health care if they are unable to do so themselves.
The Advance Health Care Directive includes what types of health care the clients would like if they are ever incapacitated or in a terminal state.
The Disposition Instructions state what the clients would like to happen to their remains after they are gone.
