This client was a single woman in her seventies with two adult children. She did not have an existing plan. Her goals included making sure her assets went where she wanted to gift them, and to set up her advance health care directive and medical documents.
We created a will plan for her, which included a:
- Will;
- Power of Attorney for Finances;
- Power of Attorney for Health Care;
- Advance Health Care Directive; and
- Disposition Instructions.
The Will designated where the client’s assets will go, and name people to act as Personal Representative of her Estate.
The Power of Attorney for Assets names people to manage the client’s assets if she is unable to do so herself during her lifetime.
The Power of Attorney for Health Care names people to manage the client’s health care if she is ever unable to do so.
The Advance Health Care Directive includes information about what types of health care the client would like if she is ever incapacitated or in a terminal condition.
The Disposition Instructions state what the client would like to happen to her remains after she is gone.
