This estate plan we created was for a single man in his seventies, who wanted to provide documentation for his estate, leave specific gifts to his friends, and give the reminder of his estate to his sisters.
We created a will plan, containing a:
- Power of Attorney;
- Healthcare Power of Attorney; and
- Health Care Directive.
A will plan works well for this client because he did not have a lot of assets, and a simple probate would be cost efficient.
The power of attorney documents provide the client with designations for individuals to take care of him if he ever becomes incapacitated.
We prepared the Health Care Directive for end of life decisions, and to take the mystery out of what the client would want to happen to him if he is ever in a permanent vegetative state.
