These clients were a married couple who had previously created a will plan with us.
After having a new baby, they wanted to amend their wills to include their new child in their plan.
To do this, we created:
- First Codicils to Wills;
- A Power of Attorney for Minors;
- A Power of Attorney for Health Care for Minors;
- A Babysitter Manual; and
- Letters to Short-Term Guardians.
The Codicils changed their Wills to include their new baby in their plans.
The Power of Attorney for Minors named all of their children, and designated people to act to care for them if an emergency happens and the parents are unable to do so.
The Power of Attorney for Health Care for Minors named all of their children, and designated people to manage their health care if an emergency occurs and the parents are unable to do so.
The Babysitter Manual leaves instructions for a babysitter to follow if an emergency happens, and leaves the parents’ names and phone numbers, in addition to names and phone numbers for the short-term and long-term guardians.
The Letters to Short-Term Guardians leave instructions to the short-term guardians for them to follow if an emergency occurs and the parents are unable to care for their children, in addition to stating the names and phone numbers for the long-term guardians.
