Happy Sunday!

I am writing you this week from sunny Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I’ve been here for several days at a conference based around growing and strengthening relationships.

It’s been a week filled with workshops about communication, shared vision, and opening up to your significant other.

And one of the cool parts about the experience was getting to hear from, learn from, and speak with couples that have great relationships.

One of the couples that spoke were Bobby and Sofia Castro, and what they spoke of is something I wanted to share with you today.

First, for a little perspective, Bobby and Sofia recently sold their company for a little over a billion dollars.

They are billionaires.

But they didn’t talk about that specifically when it came to family.

They talked about their 100 year plan.

A plan to create generational legacy in their family.

This is important to them because they both came from extremely humble backgrounds.

As they spoke about this hundred year plan and what’s going into it, as you might expect, there is a financial aspect to it. Financial planners, estate planners, family offices, etc.

But an even bigger part of the plan is implementing strategies to teach and indoctrinate their kids and their grandkids with their core values and philosophy.

They understand that all the trusts and structure and money in the world won’t make much of a difference if the people in the family have weak core values.

For that reason, a large part of the time they spend thinking about “generational wealth” is spent working toward creating strong people inside of the family.

I’m telling you this to remind you that money and tax avoidance and all of those things don’t mean much if your family is a mess.

And if you’re struggling in that department, I have good news…

You can start to turn things around today.
