Happy Sunday! And, happy birthday USA!

I’m sure I’ve said this before, but I don’t think I can say it enough. For all the things people are unhappy with about the US right now, it is still the best place to live in the world. And it’s not even close.

So, hope you had a great 4th. Now it’s time to settle into summer and enjoy the great pacific northwest weather.

And, while you’re lounging by the pool, hopefully you’re thinking about your ultimate demise. :)

Okay, not the best transition, but let’s just go with it.

And, while thinking about how to protect yourself and your family, you probably consider opening up your favorite AI platform and seeing what’s available.

And, once you do that you’ve raised your hand to get bombarded with advertisements from companies promising to use AI to do your estate plan for a very small amount of money.

It seems too good to be true. Is it?

That’s what we’re going to talk about today.

And, the short answer is, sometimes it’s great, sometimes it’s not.

The good news is, differentiating between using and not using it is pretty easy.

Here’s when you should use it:

  1. You’re in a bind and you need something yesterday. At our firm we can go fast, but sometimes you need something REALLY fast. In a bind, an AI Will will probably suffice until you can get the real thing done.
  2. You don’t care if it works or not – you just want the basics and there’s not a lot riding on it for you.

Other than that, you probably don’t want to use it.

While AI can make you a great set of docs, the limiting factor is that it only works on the information it is given. So if you don’t give it a piece of information because you don’t know it’s important, your AI attorney won’t use it.

I think that AI is an extremely helpful tool all of us should be exploring and learning and testing with. And someday it might be able to do everything for us.

But not today. :)
