When Everyone is Greedy Be Fearful, When Everyone is Fearful Be Greedy
When Everyone is Greedy Be Fearful, When Everyone is Fearful Be Greedy
The title of this post is a quote attributed to Warren Buffet. If you don’t know who Warren Buffet is he’s widely regarded as the best financial analyst and stock picker of all time.
Why does this quote matter to you? Why is it relevant?
I was watching this whole Brexit situation going down last week and I got to thinking about what all of the pundits and news analysts were saying.
This is going to cause a financial meltdown.
The stock market is going to take a tumble.
There is so much uncertainty now with Europe and the financial markets.
I couldn’t help but think of Warren Buffet’s quote and what I’m going to do be doing right now with my money.
Disclaimer: I am not a money manager, I am an estate planning attorney. I help you make sure your stuff goes where you want, that your exposure to liability is limited, and that you create generational wealth using these strategies. This is not financial advice, it’s life advice.
This is also good advice for life in general.
Be a contrarian.
Don’t believe the hype.
Do what feels right to you, not necessarily what other expect you to do.
This really only relates to estate planning in one way – there are probably a lot of people out there that expect you to do certain things with your money and life decisions.
There are people that think you should choose certain guardians.
There are people that think you should give your money to certain people.
There are people that think you should restrict or not restrict your giving.
The point here is to do what’s right for you. Don’t be swayed by other’s greed or other’s fear. Don’t be afraid to lean into the wind.Cheers,
Christopher Small
