This client was a married female client. She was previously married to someone else, and had two children with her past husband. Because she got remarried, she wanted to protect her estate for her children from her new husband. She wanted her estate, at her death, to be split between her children equally.
We created a will plan for her, which included a:
- Will;
- Financial Power of Attorney;
- Healthcare Power of Attorney; and
- Healthcare Directive.
The Will designates a person to act as personal representative of her Estate, and a guardian if anything happens to her when her children are minors. It also designates where her assets will go.
The Power of Attorney documents provide for the client in the event of her incapacity.
The Healthcare Directive provides end of life decisions about what she would want to happen to her if she enters into a permanent vegetative state.
